Next story coming soon!
My second story will be published by Xcite press in June - this one is titled "Reunion", and will be in a story collection entitled Foreign Affairs. A woman on business travel in the Middle East is reunited with her naval officer lover in the world's most expensive hotel.
This story is near and dear to my heart, as my heart's first love was a naval officer. We were separated by time and circumstance, much against our will. However, later in life, and purely by chance, we crossed paths again, and had a short lived reunion that was blistering in its intensity. Even though we went our separate ways, getting that closure in such an intense way was amazing, and I am forever grateful.
This story is dedicated to NB. I will always love you.

Reading is one of my greatest passions. I always have at least three books going at once, and they are usually different genres, different styles. Then there will always be a book for me to pick up that suits whatever mood I am in.
Many times I think, if this schlock could be published, I know I could write something….
But reality, she is a bitch.
I do not have the time or the patience to all but quit my job and devote myself countless hours a day to writing The Great American Novel.
In my life, there have been no unique experiences or phenomenal odds to overcome, so my personal material is limited.
If nothing else, grad school taught me that research sucks, so non-fiction is out.
Goodness knows I have plenty of sexy fantasies locked in my head, but my conscience and inability to tolerate cheese would not let me churn out some raunchy bodice ripper that retails for $3.99 at Wal Mart and provides some lonely hausfrau with some vicarious romantic adventures with a pirate or an outlaw for an afternoon.
Browsing through a Major Book Store Near You one day, however, I came across something that I never considered before.
Erotica.
I selected a book at random, and open to a page somewhere in the middle. It didn’t take long to realize that this was a cheesy romance novel with leather, batteries and some lube thrown in for fun. It also didn’t take long for my body to have a reaction either – this was some hot stuff.
The story – the book was actually a collection of stories – was obviously written with a female audience in mind, as the guy was a stud, and there was a lot of attention to detail. My guess is that most erotica is written for women – men require the action alone, whereas women respond to the story around and including the action. (Maybe that’s why porn movies seldom interest me – there is no plot, and the feeble attempt at dialogue is pointless. It seems to me that the “actors” should just walk on set, strip off and start fucking. That’s all a guy is interested in anyway – why waste the effort of a script?)
But I digress. After reading that story, I purchased a few selections to enjoy in the privacy of home.
I was enlightened.
Since then, I have written a few short erotic stories of my own. If nothing else, they provide a much needed release for the fantasies pent up inside me.
Erato must be my Muse.
A few friends read some of my stories, and with their encouragement, I finally sent one off for consideration by a major publisher of erotica. I found out today that it was accepted, and will be included in a short story collection next year.
Very exciting.
But here's the problem: I can't tell anyone. Admit to my church-going parents that their daughter lives out her sexual fantasies on paper? Casually mention to my Hot Boss my prediliction for rough sex? Change my Facebook status to read "Wanted: volunteers for writing research on blow jobs"?
Right.
So I decided to start this blog. I can't share this news in the real world, but I can share this journey with you, dear Faceless Internet.
Nice to meet you.
